Ian qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and worked for 12 years in rural law firms in County Durham. His main areas of work being commercial property and agricultural and rural property work.
Now with Richard Reed since 2019, Ian is on hand to provide expert advice on all types of Commercial Property work including the buying and selling of all types of commercial property, acting for lenders, the sale and purchase of development land along with Landlord and Tenant matters acting for either party.
Ian is also a Solicitor within our Agricultural Law department and is, as a beef and sheep farmer himself in Lower Weardale, expertly placed to provide advice in this area of law. When assisting farmers, landowners and rural business owners with their legal needs, Ian draws down on his extensive agricultural knowledge in order that he can provide relevant and the best legal solutions to ensure future success.
Outside of work, Ian still has an active interest in farming, although his wife and son now handle the day to day running of the farm. He also loves spending time with his grandchildren.
